DIVISION: NFC
This Division is responsible for developing the local film industry and promoting Namibia as a preferred film destination
WHAT THE DIVISION DO:
- Create awareness of NFC Products and Services
- Issue Film and Photography permits for commercial foreign productions
- Ensure compliance with local film and photography legislation
- Provide Funding for Namibian filmmakers
- Build capacity for film industry (internships, mentoring, incubation, training, equipment support for local filmmakers, festival and market support, dubbing, sub-titling, free local screenings, local bursaries)
- Encourage Co-productions among Filmmakers
- Promote Namibia for Film Investment (Namibia film locations)
- Register local facilitation and film production companies
- Conduct Film Industry Data Collection and Research
- Collaborate with Regional and International Film Bodies

Print Media Affairs
DIRECTORATE OF PRINT MEDIA AFFAIRS (PMA)
The Directorate of PMA is responsible for coordinating government communication as well as the effective communication of government policies, programmes, and projects to the public through various platforms.

The Directorate also enhances unhindered access to information for an informed nation by ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information on government programmes, plans, and initiatives. This is done through its various implementation projects such as Liaison and Production Services, which include information gathering and management, dissemination, and media monitoring for rapid response.
DIVISION OF MEDIA LIAISON
The division is responsible for coordinating Public Relations activities within the government, facilitating temporary work visas for international media practitioners, and coordinating and promoting national events. The division is also responsible for monitoring and responding to government-related matters reported in the media, registration, and accreditation of local and international journalists, disseminating information on Government policies, programmes, and activities, and monitoring websites for government Offices, Ministries, and Agencies (O/M/As), Regional Councils (RCs), and Local Authorities (LAs).

Information Gathering and Dissemination
The Subdivision is responsible for ensuring access to information, operationalization of the Government Information Centre, Popularization of government projects and programmes, management of government national events, liaising with local and foreign media on a daily basis, and managing the ministry’s social media platforms.
Media Monitoring
The subdivision is responsible for protecting, defending, and maintaining the image of the Government and ensuring that the citizenry has access to accurate and adequate information about government policies, programmes, and activities. The subdivision achieves this mandate by monitoring local and international print, digital/broadcast, and, social media and recommends rapid mitigation to that effect.
DIVISION OF PRODUCTION
The production division is responsible for the production of government publications such as the (Namibia Review magazine, Government Information Bulletin, and MICT Update, information, education, and communication (IEC) materials including all ad-hoc and periodicals, as well as for development, coordination, and implementation of various Government campaigns on topical issues such as GBV, HIV/AIDS, VMMC, COVID-19 and coordination of the Nationhood and National Pride (NNP) programme.
